1961
Midland, Texas in 1961, shortly after the period when many of the "tall city" office buildings were constructed. It is interesting to note the large number of cars parked in the lots around downtown, but this was the day when all the companies, large and small, were located downtown. Noteworthy too, is the lack of large trees in the area now known as "old Midland", an area noted for it's large trees. The arrow towards the top points to the adobe style Bedford home located on Harvard Ave. This home can be seen in the 1947 photo when it was located in the country.
