Peytons Hobbies

Peyton's Hobbies on Ohio St. was some of the first new construction in the Village Shopping Center area since the early 1950's, opening probably around 1963. Peyton's is still in business today purely as a bicycle shop and at a location in far North Midland. Peyton's in the '60s was primarily a hobby store with models, slot car kits and all manner of materials for building "projects". Kids from all over the neighborhood rode their bikes to Peyton's and parked them in front of the store. Peyton's is now occupied by Luskey's Western Wear.
