Welcome
fishermen! As we approach LGF 2003 we reflect on our years together and
hope to build upon the principles that have guided us through the years and
made our organization great! Comraderie, fishing education, the fisherman's
"Code of Conduct" and, of course, generous donations to Trinity
University. To celebrate our fishing heritage, I hereby declare the theme of
LGF 2003 to be the "Year of the Donation". |

The year 2002
was a difficult one for the financial world, yet I am happy to report that
LGF accounts have outperfomed the general markets. I attribute this to
my strong financial leadership, retirement of long term debt and the fact that
we have no funds available to be subject to market fluctuations. |

I have recently
concluded an exhaustive study of raparian drainage in the United States central
basin region, concluding in Des Moines, Iowa. I find that localized moisture
coefficients coupled with soil temperatures should allow for adequate
downstream runoff resulting in mininal aquifer replenishment. In other words,
there should be water in the river. |

Safety and the
health of the fishermen during LGF 2003 will be my priority. I am a
doctor. I will be conducting a safety briefing covering exposure to sharp
pointed objects, water, and explosives. No fisherman will be allowed in the
watercraft until he has been issued a safety certificate. In addition, due to
the advancing age of some fishermen, as a doctor, I caution them to not move to
rapidly and to engage in events involve sitting. |
