Da Zoo Reunion 2000

Comraderie was at a maximum level and catching up on each others lives the order of the day at Da Zoo Reunion 2000. The activities were well planned by the staff of the Lazy "G" Guest Ranch with emphasis on physical activities and cultural awareness of the surrounding eco-system. Tours of the Tonto Natural Bridge were a highlight and everyone was anxious to make the arduous 2 mile trek to it's base [two did]. Vehicle tours of the area were arranged with several members actually getting out of the car. Many members were interested in learning more of the social customs of the local residents, and so the group visited several historic local attractions known in the area as "Taverns".

The physical activites were grueling with many members of Da Zoo required to leave their chairs once an hour to participate in Combat Horseshoes. The rigorous pace of the physical challenges endured were brought home when Col. L. Casper contused his lower limbs while demonstrating the correct procedure for a "Parachute Landing Fall" part of Da Zoo's continuing education and refresher program. He survived due to prompt and coordinated attention by two Army trained physicians on the scene.
