I'm still recuperating from 4 days of fairly continuous activity....and sorting through 500 photos culled down to 100 representative shots. Here they are in the link below. They follow the main events over two days starting with the actual Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House followed by lunch in the East Room with a marvelous and huge portrait of Lincoln over the fireplace. The next set of photos are in the "Hall of Heroes" at the Pentagon where every person who has been awarded the Medal has his name inscribed. Finally there was a fabulous reception given by the Secretary of the Army at Arlington National Cemetery. The reception was held in the visitors center which is currently displaying a series of art work, portraits of every single service member killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan up until 2004. A number of women among them. There were over 1300 faces now gone....haunting. I viewed one from Odessa and one from Stanton. Here are my Medal of Honor photos.
