I'm now an investor in a clothing business in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. And here I thought I'd never have that opportunity!
After reading an editorial in todays paper about an organization that gives microloans to deserving businesses in third world countries, I thought I would check them out. What an amazingly simple, cheap and efficient way to directly help someone who is willing to help him/herself out but needs a little financial assistance. $100 here in the U.S. is, nowadays, small folding money.....in Tanzania, it's a huge amount. The power of the internet at it's best.....
I'm thinking that perhaps I'll get a "deal" on some clothes, help someone in need and probably get my money back. Amazingly, at this point, almost 100% of the loans have been paid back. Check them out.....
