On the Eve of Christmas....
Frankly Christmas for me, and my Mom, will be sparse this year; for obvious reasons. But we'll try and make the best of what we can. Christmas is a holy day, a family day and a secular holiday, but is also an attitude. Going into Christmas one needs to have a good and proper attitude and a reasonably sane mind concerning ones expectations. I think we're both OK in both areas. Not that it won't be sad, but we plan on having a good, albeit different, Christmas. Church, doing a few things for others and visiting with old friends.
And if I need any help in the "attitude of gratitude" department, I only have to remember back two years. Two years ago, at just about the time I am writing this, I was in surgery, my chest cut open like a chicken, heart and lungs stopped while a team of surgeons repaired the ticker. Not only gratitude, but thanks to all those who were there to repair my body and to see me through the ordeal. Including one whom I won't mention, but that person knows who he/she/it is. Here's a shot of me on Christmas Eve, or perhaps, Christmas I'm not sure which because I wasn't much with it. This Christmas will be more pleasant than that, I can guarantee you!
