Country music legend Buck Owens is dead at the age of 76. Many people think of Buck first and foremost as the host and star of the corny but highly visible show, Hee Haw, which is sad. Buck was a forerunner of modern country music and originator, along with Merle Haggard, of the upbeat rockabilly Bakersfield sound. In fact Merle played bass in Owens first succesful band. His music influenced many famous recording artists including Emmylou Harris and the Beatles.
