Play Ball.....again
More baseball action for Jack tonight, under the lights. Jack's team got beaten by a team who had some impressive hitters including the son of a former major leaguer. Jack got smacked in the lip by a one hopper in warm ups...but took an inning to recover and then made his mark at second base big lip and all.
As we sat on the 3rd base sidelines we noticed the other team's third base coach looked familiar. It was none other than Randy Velarde who retired here to his hometown after a very successful career mainly with the Yankees and later with the Angels and Oakland A's. Randy is one of only 11 [I think] major league players ever to score a triple play single handedly.
