Always on the alert for an interesting out of the ordinary vacation destination I've recently come across a real getaway spot courtesy of my friend Gary Adkins in Coober Pedy, Australia. Deep in the Australian outback and a mere 140 km. from Coober Pedy is Woomera Station, the world's largest rocket test range.
Once a restricted area Woomera is now open to the public and has all any traveler would want...a golf course, swimming pool, fitness centre, theatre, ten pin bowling alley, lawn bowling greens, tennis courts, squash courts, a 270 room 3-star hotel and a variety of fine dining establishments.
