When indeed.....?
Well they say, they being everyone, when is the wedding? We say, this is a good question, but we just don't know. Not long, but really not too short a period of time. Not June of 2004, but not next month either.
There really is much to be done prenuptially. Get Julie's house on the market. Get young Jack started at his new school. Decide which pieces of two sets of furniture stay, which go. Clear space in the Bedford Drive residence for two more occupants...and another dog. Then there is the Air Show in late September of which I am commited to assist in running. A reunion in San Antonio late in October that we don't want to miss, a reunion in D.C. in early November that we don't want to miss......and then those pesky holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas.
And don't even get started on where......my oh my, where? Today while talking to an old friend who is now in Miami, I had a suggestion for where and when. The suggestion was made so that she and her husband could be sure to attend. They have been some of my closest friends over the years, such good friends that I lived with them at Ft. Benning, Ga. in 1971. Tom, is one of the highest ranking Generals in the Army, Four Stars, and travels constantly so it would be nice be able to accomodate them. Plus, I don't know many people who have Four Star Generals in their wedding....so that would be memorable. We'll see.....and don't worry the "where" in the suggestion was not Miami.
So for now, we'll concentrate on first things, first. We are still trying to choose between two rings for Julie. We'll decide on the ring this week and move on from there.........
