And Justice prevails......
Just when I get the most morose about the way things go in the world, I come across an uplifting article to restore my faith in a Supreme Being who does dispense justice. This in today's newspaper from the Associated Press.

Winchester Va. [AP]
"A man trying to beat his dog to death with a gun, was fatally wounded when it apparently went off accidentally, police said. Raymond Poore Jr. , 43, called his wife at work thursday and told her that their dog had bitten him and he intended to kill the animal.

The wife came home about 6 p.m. and found her husband unconscious, with a number of dog bites and scratches. Emergency medical personnel discovered that Poore had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police Capt. David Sobonya said Poore must have beaten the 30 lb. Shar-Pei with the gun that went off. He said that the stock of the weapon had broken and there appeared to be blood and dog hair on it. The dog is in the care of animal control officers and is expected to make a full recovery."

There seem to be some questions left unanswered. Chief among these are: How long had Poore been on welfare. Was his trailer home a single or double-wide. Did the Shar-Pei sleep underneath the plywood porch, or in the trash dump behind the trailer. And...how many junked cars were resting in the front yard.

Bleep this...!
And in more stirring news from the print media, I browsed the N.Y. Times story entitled, "Fewer Viewers object as unbleeped bleep words spread on network TeeVee". The gist of the story being that the FCC is getting fewer complaints from viewers about "nasty" words even as they proliferate on mainstream TeeVee.

My objective reasoning on this topic is simple. Fewer mainstream citizens above the age of 30 watch mainstream TeeVee. And the one reason for that is. IT IS MOSTLY bleep CRAP.
Thank you.
