Evening Edtion: What a glorious day after Easter, and really turning a tad warmish this afternoon. Such a beautiful day, it was time to plant the petunias. Shocking pink and white this year, after last years red, white, and blue motif. Petunias, I've found, do the best on the patio with it's mixed alternating heavy shade and bright sun. And in a stoke of faith, I have strewn nasturtium seeds hither and yon. But those fur bag squirels keep digging them up. They'll sing quite a different tune when I warm up their butts with Ol' Betsy my trusty BB gun. It's an amazing thing that 20 years ago there wasn't a squirel within 100 miles of town and now the little rat-like creatures are overruning the place. I've given them their warning, talked mean to them and now if I have to resort to violence..well I have no recourse.

And speaking of pests....have you ever had 7000 crackles in your pine trees. Well you just march over here and I'll show you a sight you never want to see or hear. I just took a break from writing this edition to go out in the dark and try to scare them away. Well when I made a noise and heard 14,000 wings flappin' in that tree..... I saw Hitchcock's "The Birds" and I wasn't gonna' stick around there in the dark...no sir.
